-looking forward to the future-

November 8, 2009

secretproject
Ok, so part one of my “secret project” is now complete~ Which means that it’s time to tell everyone about it, haha. It’s really nothing too special, but I went through all the recent license announcements and pre-listings on Amazon.com for manga to be on the look-out for in 2010 (aka, just new series, though I will have a post for other things, like series finales, fanbooks, artbooks, novels, etc.) and made a giant list with lots of info and my thoughts on them. I decided to call it -looking forward to the future- simply because that’s what I have on my banner right now, and I said it was connected. I really just kind of came up with it when I was making the banner, haha.
The first part will be shojo manga, and I’ve got it scheduled for Tuesday at noon (EST), so that this explanation post will be up for a while before that posts. The shojo post at least got rather out of hand, and kind of turned into almost all the shojo manga I could find that it coming out in 2010. I’ve got a list of works for the other posts, but haven’t really started working on them yet, so I’m not sure when the next post will be out yet (it will mostly depend on schoolwork).
It’s not much, but I’m pretty excited about it, and hope you all really enjoy it!
oh, and this is random, but beware of the attack of the tags in future posts. ;]

I love this idea! It seems especially fun to me while all the anime bloggers are doing their little winter previews. The manga blogger gets a preview of her own! ^_^

yay! Glad you like it! : D haha, I hadn’t though of that when I originally came up with the idea, but once I started seeing winter previews, I realized that it is basically the same thing, which made me laugh. xD

Oh cool! It’s about time someone did this for manga. My guess is that they’re probably too many new series to cover for any upcoming year so no one really took up the task but yay for you on all that hard work searching through Amazon! Demand payment from them for helping with the advertising. lolol xDDD

I’ll be looking forward to your posts. ^^

I know Deb Aoki (manga.about.com) does something similar, but I think I’m going to have a ton times more titles than she normally covers (she usually only covers the big name titles, I’ve got some pretty obscure ones). ahaha, it wasn’t just amazon (though that was a lot of it), I went through old ANN convention reports to find license announcements, and individual publisher’s sites (though Viz’s was the only one really useful for this…). :] I think I’ll demand review copies instead! >:D

Sweet! I’m sometimes out of the loop when it comes to manga being released – as noted when I commented on your new banner >_<

I'm looking forward to what you got for us ^_^ (no pressure though!)

haha, the main reason I keep up with things is because I run the Shojo Beat guild in Gaia and I obsessively keep up with their new announcements, so I figured why not check up on the rest of them too? xD

Thanks! : D heehee, it’s ok I did it all during the weekend when I had nothing else to do. ;]

    Finally I get to comment~

Anyways, I can’t wait for this project! I’m never good with figuring out when or what mangas are being released. I usually just hear about it in the blogosphere and check it out myself, haha.

(Btw, sorry for asking something on my first comment here, but could I…use the list to help me do a preview for mangas as well–with obvious credit? If not it’s fine~ Just wondering…)

Anyways, best of luck with the project and again, can’t wait! :D

      (Sure, go for it!!)

      Thanks again~
